Pre-Lander
Pre-landers pre-frame cold traffic before the offer page: quizzes, advertorials, “pick your bonus” interstitials — engineered to raise downstream conversion on low-intent inventory.
The line that matters
Legitimate pre-landers qualify and warm (expectation-setting, GEO/age gating, entertainment framing); the gray version manufactures false context — fake news formats, fabricated wins, urgency theater — which advertising codes, platforms and decent programs all prohibit. Traffic-source rules apply transitively: the pre-lander is part of the advertising, disclosed and compliant, or it’s the screenshot in the enforcement file. Programs auditing partner funnels should ask for pre-lander URLs explicitly; the ad alone is half the story.
