Listing fees are pay-to-play: €500–€5,000+ to appear in a comparison table or review roster at all, with performance commissions negotiated on top.

Legitimate gatekeeping or rent extraction?

High-authority publishers with finite table slots ration access by price — economically coherent, if annoying. The distinction to draw: fees on sites with real traffic and conversion history are a marketing cost you can ROI-check like any other; fees demanded by low-traffic sites mimicking the big players’ pricing are pure rent. Ask for delivered-FTD evidence from comparable listings before paying, and treat refusal as the answer.
