GLOSSARY TERM
Social Responsibility Code
Social-responsibility provisions (the UKGC’s LCCP language popularized the term) oblige operators to identify and act on harm indicators: spend spikes, chased losses, night-long sessions trigger interactions, limits or exclusions.
From policy to practice
Enforcement cases repeatedly show the gap that gets fined: markers logged but no action taken, VIP revenue overriding welfare flags. Modern compliance stacks automate marker detection and document interventions. The cultural shift matters commercially too — the highest-value “VIP” of the old model is frequently tomorrow’s affordability case, and programs recruiting traffic on “high-roller” promises are recruiting tomorrow’s compliance file.
