GLOSSARY TERM

SDK (Software Development Kit)

SDKs wrap APIs into embeddable components: MMP attribution SDKs in casino apps, game-provider SDKs in front ends, payment SDKs in cashiers.

Adoption calculus

SDKs accelerate integration and standardize edge cases, at the cost of dependency weight, update treadmills and supply-chain trust (the SDK ships inside your product — audit its data collection against your privacy posture and market rules; “the SDK phoned home” is a real compliance-incident genre). Pin versions deliberately, monitor deprecations, and inventory SDK data flows in DPIAs where GDPR applies. Thin-wrapper alternatives (direct API use) trade convenience for control; volume and risk decide.
