GLOSSARY TERM

Negative Carryover

Under negative carryover, if an affiliate’s referred players win €10,000 net in March, the affiliate starts April at −€10,000 and earns nothing until player losses climb back past zero.

The market standard is moving

No negative carryover — resetting each month to zero — has become the competitive norm among programs courting quality affiliates, because one lucky high roller can otherwise bury a partner’s earnings for a year through no fault of their own. Operators who keep carryover generally pair it with a high-roller clause instead. Affiliates rank this clause among their top three deal criteria; programs that drop carryover should advertise it loudly.
