GLOSSARY TERM

Last-Click Attribution

Under last-click, whoever drove the click immediately preceding registration gets 100% of the credit and the commission. It is simple, auditable, and what nearly every affiliate agreement means unless stated otherwise.

The known distortion

Last-click over-rewards bottom-of-funnel interceptors — bonus-code sites and brand-bidding PPC — and under-rewards the review site that created the intent. Operators counter with brand-bidding bans and differentiated deal terms by traffic type rather than by changing the attribution model, because affiliates trust last-click’s verifiability more than any weighted alternative.
