GLOSSARY TERM
Real-Time Reporting
Real-time reporting streams clicks, registrations and conversions into dashboards within seconds to minutes, versus batch cycles of hours or days.
Who genuinely needs it
Media buyers killing losing campaigns burn budget during every reporting lag — real-time click/conversion data is their oxygen; program managers need near-real-time for launch monitoring and fraud response; finance needs accuracy over speed (settled numbers, not streaming estimates — the two views should be labeled, not blended). Platform honesty note: “real-time” with silent postback batching is a support-ticket generator; publish actual latencies per metric.
