GLOSSARY TERM

Multi-Tenancy

Multi-tenant platforms serve many operators (or brands, or programs) from shared infrastructure with logical isolation: shared code and hardware, partitioned data and configuration.

What buyers should probe

Isolation depth (row-level flags versus schema/database separation — breach blast radius differs), noisy-neighbor handling (another tenant’s campaign spike shouldn’t lag your reporting), tenant-scoped customization limits, and data-extraction rights (your data’s portability is a contract term, not a feature). For platform vendors, tenancy architecture is the margin engine; for operators it’s mostly invisible — until an isolation failure or a shared outage makes it the only visible thing. Reference-check both scenarios.
