GLOSSARY TERM
Closed-Loop Policy
Closed-loop rules route money back where it came from: card deposits refund to the card up to deposited amounts, with only the excess (winnings) eligible for other rails.
Why it exists and where it chafes
It blocks the classic laundering pattern (dirty deposit in, clean withdrawal out via another channel) and is standard AML practice, not operator whim. Friction cases: expired cards, closed wallets, rails without pull-back support — requiring documented exception handling. Player-facing content explaining closed-loop honestly preempts the most common “casino won’t pay to my bank” misunderstanding in complaint forums.
