GLOSSARY TERM
Regulated Market
Regulated markets license locally: operators pay for market access (fees, gaming taxes, compliance infrastructure) and gain legal marketing channels, payment stability and enforceable consumer trust.
What regulation changes for acquisition
Advertising becomes possible (TV, sports, paid search under certification) but rule-bound; bonuses face restrictions; affiliates may need registration in some regimes (several US states license or register affiliates). CPAs run higher — legally acquired, protected players are worth more and cost more. The channel mix shifts from offshore-style aggression toward brand, compliance-clean content and licensed media partnerships.
