GLOSSARY TERM

Moneyline

Moneyline bets pick winners at odds reflecting matchup imbalance: −200 favorites (stake 200 to win 100) versus +170 underdogs (stake 100 to win 170).

Notation fluency

Negative = stake to win 100; positive = winnings per 100 staked; conversion to implied probability (−200 → 66.7%, +170 → 37%) is the arithmetic every serious bettor internalizes. US-market content must live in this notation while European audiences read decimal — sites serving both should localize odds display, a small technical touch that measurably reduces bounce on cross-market pages.
