Every extra navigation step between landing and registration sheds users; deep-linked traffic converts meaningfully better than homepage dumps for intent-matched content. Programs should expose a deep-link builder in the affiliate portal — affiliates who can’t build deep links send homepage traffic, and both sides earn less. In apps, deferred deep links carry the destination through the install step.
