Device Fingerprinting

Fingerprinting hashes dozens of device signals into a probabilistic identifier that survives cookie clearing and private browsing. In iGaming it appears twice: as an attribution fallback, and — far more importantly — in fraud detection.

Use with care

For fraud (multi-accounting, bonus abuse rings, duplicate FTDs) fingerprinting is standard and defensible. As a marketing-attribution mechanism in the EU, it processes personal data and needs the same lawful basis as cookies under ePrivacy rules — regulators have said so explicitly. Fraud teams: yes. Growth teams: check with your DPO first.
