Yes, there is more than Google PageRank and Alexa rank in this world. You can determind you website’s worth using various online tools, as each of them is based on a different altagorism. So…
- Webagogo — tests the quality of your site and displays the results in a brief overview against a pleasant interface. This tool performs markup and style analysis, accessibility tests, usability tests, speed benchmark tests and calculates SEO effectiveness.
- Blog Juice is a tool for blogs only, and estimates the value upon the approximate number of Bloglines subscribers, Alexa rank, the ranking assigned by Technorati and the number of inbound links. The too, in my personal opinion is not very accurate, but it’s nice to play around with it.
- Page Strength SEO Tool measures the relative importance of a page, the potential power and ability to rank good in SE (Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc) and displays data on popularity, links and some other aspects such as DMOZ listing.
- Sitescore — last but definitely not least and probably the most prominent analytics online tool that I have seen so far. It provides a detailed report on dozens of various design-related aspects. Everything gets evaluated and rated based on its performance on the scale from 1 to 10. Very easy, very nice, and very insightful. This tool’s free version is currently NOT available.
Now you have some more toys to play with while PageRank is updating and Alexa is going downhills.

Every webmaster knows how Search Engine Optimization is important, especially to a commercial website, how it helps the site’s traffic by better results in SE’s such as Google, Yahoo and MSN, but as usual — most of us do not know how to do it ourselves. It can be rather frustrating, especially if we do not have the needed knowledge, so in most cases, it’s much easier to hire services of a search engine placement company, who will do it all for you.
One of the most popular SEO techniques today is the text link advertising. The anchor text used for the link is getting “recorded” by the SE, and then, if you have enough text links with the right anchor text, your site will show up on prime positions in SE, when one will be searching for your anchor text.
However, of course it’s not as easy as I describe it here, there are many nuances, and bearing in mind the enormous competition — vast majority of companies choose to hire experts for this job now-a-days. The keyword to success in text link ads is the Quality of the links, which is why saving yourself headache and hiring someone could be a great solution. I’d recommend our sponsors - submitawebsite.com, not only because they are leading in the Search Engine Marketing industry, but also because you can easily get a free consultation, without any obligations. Is your competition ranking where you should be? — Let SubmitAWebsite.com give you the right answer!
Some webmasters are really obsessed about getting their site listed in miscellaneous directories. Let’s face it, when YOU want to find something, do you turn to Google / Yahoo / MSN, or start searching directories for it? Well, not only you, but people hardly ever browse directories seeking for something so you could be pleasantly surprised getting a few hits from your submission, however, I’d not build on it. Normally, people submit to high PageRank and well indexed directories only because they want to improve their own ranking. From Google’s point of view, who now encourages webmasters to report paid links, it’s a nice n’ sneaky way to bypass the forbidden paid links campaign because officially you pay for “listing in directory”, not for getting a PR6 back link.
So how can you know what directory is best for you? If you are looking to submit your site for free, I’d suggest to go to here and sort the directories by PR, then submit to all the PR3+ sites. Don’t bother submitting to the small players, it will take up many hours of your time and may not pay out. This is to get some link love, but how can you know what directory is ranked better for YOUR keyword? The simplest way to check is to search Google for your desired keywords, and see what directory comes up first. Whichever of them gives the first result, means it’s well indexed for the these particular word or phrases and is potentially worth submitting to.
Have you noticed that most PPP posties have the ‘I follow‘ budge on their blog? I wonder you did not think about it, but if you have an account at payperpost.com you would notice that whoever’s blog you visit, you find out the owner of the blog kindly offers a quality backlinks in exchange for a comment. Coincidence? Not really, considering that this very blog does the same.
So where is the catch you missed? In order to earn decent money of PPP opportunities you need to have a good traffic, or rather low Alexa ranking, the lower the better, which means your traffic is high. Giving away links in exchange for comments is a typical link bait, and as any link bait - it drives traffic in. Traffic means Alexa, Alexa means betters chances to make more big green. Now tell me, are these links given in exchange for comments indicate more about blogger’s generosity or maybe… greed?
What worth more? Considering that sex can only be real (my apologies to all those who consider cyber relationships to be real) and SEO can only be virtual (my apologies to all those who consider SEO to be a lifestyle) - how can you compare these two?
Simple.
Last month, Mike Mann announced the purchase of SEO.com by WashingtonVC for $5 millions. Only. While a couple of years ago, in 2005, Sex.com was sold for $12 Million in cash and stocks. Of course we are talking about different deals but both are .com TLD’s and are 3 letter domains (aka LLL.com), which make sense, so to speak.
Conclusion? - Sex can be way more “costly”.
