Thankfully they can’t, otherwise they would have emptied our credit cards on all these bones, toys and other dog supplies that are available online, don’t you think? Actually, since I have a dog myself, I often browse these online shops that offer various nice goodies for our pets, if the item is not too heavy, it ends up costing u a lot cheaper than if you were to buy it in a local store. After all, dogs don’t really care as long as they have something to chew on, and and they can chew on something cheaper ![]()

Fiat money isn’t worth the paper it’s written on and the US$ is fiat money. We’ve known that but now the rest of the world is catching on. Want to know why oil prices keep going up? The simple answer (other than greed) is that the US$ keeps going down, down, down! That’s not the worst news. Soon, oil will be traded in something other than the US$ and then we’ll really see a mess!
On October 25, 2007 the US$ stood at $79.70. As the market closed on Wednesday, the dollar had fallen like a rock to $71.41. That’s more than a 10% drop in less than six months. That means the oil producing countries need to be getting at least 10% more and at $100 a barrel, is there any wonder oil is being priced at $113.00 today? And going higher as the US$ goes lower.
And then we have to add to that the rising rate of inflation, which is increasing also!
Annual inflation in euro nations rose to a record 3.6 percent in March, boosted by higher prices in transport fuel, heating, dairy products and bread, said Eurostat, the EU’s statistical agency. It is the highest inflation rate in 16 years.
Olivier Jakob of Petromatrix in Switzerland said there had been a “very strong correlation” between rising oil prices and the weakening dollar in the last few months, which appeared to have been broken at the start of this week. “Monday and Tuesday crude oil managed to move ahead without the help of the dollar,” Jakob said. “But once we broke above 1.59 euros per dollar and as we move toward 1.60, there’s going to be more buying coming into oil.”
Analysts said growing investor demand for commodities — which have performed better than other financial instruments — also helped prop up prices. Can you say gold?
Oil’s recent run above $110 a barrel has been largely attributed to a steadily depreciating U.S. currency because a weakening dollar prompts investors to seek a safe haven in hard commodities such as oil and gold. Last week’s EIA report showed an unexpected drop in crude inventories, which started oil on its way to several records.
Gasoline inventories were expected to decline 2 million barrels, to post their fifth consecutive weekly drop amid increasing demand for the fuel, the survey showed. Gasoline demand typically starts to increase at this time of year, but high prices at the pump and a slowing U.S. economy appear to have dented the pace of demand growth.
The Can Do Cantina (print as much money as we want) is closing!
Attracting the most attention was the closure of Mexico’s three main oil-exporting ports on the Gulf Coast because of bad weather that started Sunday. Only one of the ports remained closed Tuesday, according to Mexico’s Communications and Transportation Department.
The USA golden era is over! No more free rides by just printing money whenever we wanted.

More than 2,700 people were killed in the terrorist strike on 9-11. And today, the Pope got to see what’s been called ground zero up close and personal. Joining the pope at the site were survivors of the attacks and relatives of those who died, as well New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Cardinal Edward Egan. The Holy Father lit a memorial candle, prayed, and blessed the site with holy water.
Benedict was driven in the popemobile part of the way down a ramp now used mostly by construction trucks to a spot by the north tower’s footprint. He got out, walked the final steps and knelt in silent prayer for a few moments as many in the world watched vis TV satellite.
After praying, the pope greeted the 9/11 survivors and their relatives.
Benedict had invited 24 people with ties to ground zero to join him: survivors, relatives of victims and four rescue workers. His prayers for peace, hope and healing, included for those who became ill after breathing toxic air in the ruins.
The site where the World Trade Center was destroyed is normally filled with hundreds of workers building a 102-story skyscraper, a memorial and transit hub. It bears little resemblance to the debris-filled pit where crews toiled to remove twisted steel and victims’ remains.
Later today, Pope Benedict XVI will celebrate Mass at Yankee Stadium, before returning to Rome. The six day whirlwind trip covered everything from priest scandals, terrorists conversations with Gerge Bush, a visit to the United Nations, and the 9-11 memorial.
The Papa came, he saw, and now he returns home.
WHAT IS FEEDBACK?
“Feedback can be defined as the tool that projects and presents the information which highlights if there are any gaps between the intentions and the actions with in the individual as well as if there is any gap between the expectations and aspirations of the receiver (employer) and the giver (employee) in achieving the goals and objectives of the organization”, Prof.M.S.Rao.
STAGES OF FEEDBACK:
While providing the feedback, dispassionately describe the behavior of the person with entire information. Convey your feelings objectively and specifically without hurting the other person. Explain the impact and the implications and complications involved in such kind of behavior. And request or implore the other person to change his intentions, actions and behavior as it will help in having better personality and command respect among all. There has to be etiquette in all the stages of feedback in order to have effectiveness and acceptance.
TYPES OF FEEDBACK:
There are different types of feedback such as positive feedback, negative feedback, bipolar feedback and sandwich feedback etc,
If the end result of the feedback is in favor of the individual and that makes the person happy and comfortable it is said to be positive feedback. On the other hand, if the outcome of the report or feedback is not palatable to the other person and requires drastic correction for improvement then it is known as negative feedback. Third method of feedback is the bipolar one which is blend of both appreciation and correction. There is a polished manner and method of giving feedback which is known as sandwich method. In this method, the negative comments are embedded between positive comments. Such as this kind of feedback starts with a positive sentence of praise followed by the intended information conveyed to be negative for correction and then quickly and smartly concluded with positive praise. For instance, “Sangeeta, you are so sweet and cute in appearance. Unfortunately the attire is not matching to the function. Of course, your manners appeal me the most”.
IMPORTANCE:
Learning is a process from cradle to grave. And one can learn effectively and efficiently if the feedback is taken continuously. The feedback appraiser must be someone who is fair, dispassionate and impartial to judge, evaluate and provide constructive feedback for progress.
Constructive feedback reinforces the strengths and helps in overcoming the weaknesses and provides the direction to the areas that need to be improved.
There are appraisers in corporates who are exclusively meant for evaluating the employees for their performance. If there are any shortfalls in the employee skills and abilities and the same can be upgraded by providing proper training. Human resources are the most precious capital in any organization. Feedback, as a tool, helps the organizations to measure the standards of the employees also such as Total Quality Management (TQM). In this cut throat competitive world, all organizations are laying stress on development of human capital.
The organizations are employing specialized professionals for feedback evaluation and it indicates the growing significance towards evaluation of feedback.
CASE STUDY OF VARUN:
Varun was a hardworking student in an engineering college and when Varun gave negative and constructive feedback to his faculty, the latter awarded minimum marks in the internal examinations. Who was at fault? The faculty? Or the student? It is certainly the faculty for not having taken the feedback constructively. There is always room for improvement and the probable areas needs to be improved for every one whether it is faculty or student or any body else. Unfortunately the faculty could not digest the negative feedback.
CASE STUDY OF POOJA:
Pooja was an excellent speaker and delivered a wonderful seminar on a topic. At the end of the seminar Pooja asked his teaching faculty to give feedback. The faculty highlighted all the positive elements and ingredients such as delivery, flow, command, confidence, knowledge, relevance to the topic and she felt greatly excited. Subsequently the teaching faculty asked her to meet in his cabin. In the cabin, the faculty personally commented, “Your speech was excellent with total command, control and confidence in communication. However there was a flaw in your body language that is, keeping a leg apart while standing that looks inviting others and that needs to be improved. Rest everything was superb”. In this context the faculty gave a positive feedback in public and a sandwich feedback in private.
