When it comes to software, remember: NEVER BUY BEFORE YOU TRY.
3 years ago, Pc-Cillin by TrendMacro was my all time favorite anti-virus software which I trusted blindly and always used it. And yes, I had a licensed copy which is the main reason I preferred it over others. After it expired I switched to Avast and AVG (on and off using them and experimenting) but the protection you get for free is… well, protection that has no guarantee.
Some time ago I decided to get PC Cillin back and first downloaded the trial version. Luckily I didn’t get a copy before installing. Installation process was painful, it asked to uninstall one by one ALL my any-spyware programs, so list included Ad-aware, Spyware Blaster as well as Xoft Spy and Spyware Doctor. So, if you paid for these programs before — forget them now with PC-cillin because you cannot install them while having any other spyware progra on your harddrive.
Fine, I uninstalled it all (ALL!) and went on with the installation. Oops, error. Installation cannot be complete. I tried to restart and reinsttall, tried installing on the other harddrive… Nothing. It just can’t install. I still, and probably forever will wonder what happened and why installation could not be complete, but one thing I learnt for sure, if you used previous version of any software and were satisfied, it does not mean that a new, improved, modern and better version of the same software won’t cause any problems.

I know what you mean, the updates are some times worse then the old version. I recently updated my music playing software and realized that the old version was so much better! I was a litte frustrated to say the least
this is one of the first antivirus i have heard but people no more use this as it couldnt compete with new softwares.
