Tears of Rain

I had seen this artwork a few times on various places and I think it’s truly splendid so I thought I would explain how it was done, though the original artwork was made (I believe) by uberg33k.com.

Basically, we just take the black and white image with dew or drops of water and create a new layer in Photoshop. With a small brush, carefully, we go over the droplets and paint them in some other colour. Then we go to Layer Styles and choose gradient — Rainbow. Click OK.

Now it’s all about overlay and fill opacity of the second layer. Since all the images are different in their darkness and contrast, i suggest to just try all the settings and see what looks best. If it’s too bright — reduce opacity. This is basically how images of this nature are done, hope this helps.
