Paid bloggers are probably the only job on the internet that allows you to earn A LOT, with minimum to ZERO investment. Zero investment is the case, when you open a blog hosted for free on blogger or wordpress sub-domain. This way, you have no expenses for hosting, domain or any other side investments.
If you wish to establish a name on the internet, you would have to spend a few dollars a month on hosting and about 9$ a year on a domain name, but that is about it. If you want to be super economical, sign up with DreamHost.com using the coupon code “Lorelei” — you will get 90$ discount and a free domain, so in other words for 29$ a year you will have a blog on Top Level Domain and more bandwidth and space than you can handle.
Make Money Blogging
So, you want to start making money blogging, where and how do you get started? I will list below only networks I worked with myself and got paid, so you know they are real and not scam.
1. PayPerPost. By far the biggest marketplace for sponsored reviews and bloggers to pick up a task. There are dozens of reviews available daily (mostly if you are in the USA) and you pick up what to blog about and on what day, very flexible and easy. To date, I earnt over 1800$ with them, after only 3 months of participation. So, this network is the most profitable, in my opinion, however with the recent changes, bloggers outside the US might struggle to earn as much. Affiliate program: You can get paid for referring both bloggers and advertisers.

2. Blogsvertise. Another good network in which I earnt a few hundreds of dollars. Their demands are almost identical for any post, and require 100 words per review — which is not much, and most reviews are above 10$, though while you are new, you will get lower paying offers. They give you plenty of time to complete the task and email twice, so Blogsvertise are very easy to work with. Affiliate program: You can get paid for referring advertisers only.
3. Smorty. I wrote about them already, it’s a very nice network that pays on a weekly basis, however, due to either small marketplace of advertisers or fast bloggers who grab the campaigns, there are not many opportunities to choose from. They email you once a new campaign is available though it does not happen too often. Most reviews are around 6$, so don’t target at them if you have big plans. Affiliate program: You have to sign up for it separately.
4. ReviewMe. Biggest competitor of PayPerPost, and offers both marketplace where bloggers choose (mostly very low paying) campaigns, and direct blogger’s hiring by advertisers. They take the biggest cut in the whole paid-blogging industry - 50%, which is why bloggers either have to give a lower price (and earn less) in order to get reviews, or just don’t get them at all. In my personal opinion they are losing the competition to PayPerPost, so I made around 300$ with them and don’t check them anymore. Affiliate program: You can get paid for referring advertisers only.
5. SponsoredReviews. This is a totally different sponsored reviews machine where basically blogger an advertisers negotiate. Advertiser gives a price range he is willing to pay for a review, and the blogger “bids”. Advertiser checks the bloggers website and decides weather or not he is willing to pay that sum, (he can also hire the bloggers directly). On this occasion I want to advice you, if you are blogging for sponsoredreviews.com, do not bid to their higher end of the price, i.e. if you see the advertiser say he is willing to pay between 10 to 200 dollars for a review, and you bid 100, you are unlikely to get the task, unless you have a very high ranked website. They reserve the high price just in case some popular and well ranked blog place a bid, but any advertiser will always prefer to go with the cheapest option. In about 2-3 months with them I managed to make around 200$, they pay on a bi-weekly basis and give a great opportunity to write less reviews for bigger reward. Affiliate program: None.
6. PayU2Blog.com. I was skeptical to join because of their slightly unorganized FAQ (There are many questions, answers to which you won’t find online). However, I gave it a go and must say they did not disappoint me at all. They assign you the tasks themselves, so there is no competition with other bloggers, and they keep the supply of assignments coming which means you always have a few more opportunities in queue. All assignments are 5$ for 60 words, and so far I did not see any variation, however every week they give away 100$ to random bloggers, so it is a nice extra bonus to look forward to. Payments are made of Friday on a bi-weekly basis, so far I got paid and can confirm they are trustworthy. Affiliate Program: None.
So, these are the most notable networks for advertisers and bloggers, which I tried myself and which paid me. When you decide to blog for money, unless you are really in need of every cent, try to keep in mind the payment ratio of each review. It means, 5$ for a 50 words review on a blog with no PR or Alexa is a good compensation, however, 5 dollars for a 200 words review or a review on PR4 blog is way under priced. Don’t set unreal prices when you get listed in marktplaces, because remember, advertisers go and check your blog, they see for themselves if it’s worth their investment in the review or not. They want to see maximum return for their money, and you have to be worthy of the price you set. That’s it for now, hopefully this information was useful and… happy blogging!
