Yeah, who would believe that BitTorrent, one of the leading P2P networks, would announce legal downloads. After seeing the success of iTunes (and probably the revenue it brought), Bram Cohen, the original creator of BitTorrent, decided to put an end to continues problems caused following copyright issues.

Unlike other popular P2P clients like Kazaa and LimeWire, which require downloading files from specific users, BitTorrent spreads out the transfer work. Users who download files automatically share the pieces that they’ve downloaded with other users, making large transfers much more efficient. Because BitTorrent is open source, other clients like BitComet have also become extremely popular, and BitTorrent support was added to the alternative browser Opera.

The competition is still tough though. Amazon and Wal-Mart now also sale movies online, I did not check yet but I believe for a few dollars (a day?). Download a free movie for your eternal personal use still seems infinitely cheaper, hence some movies, such as “Dimentia 13″ (1963)  are free to download. Thanks a bunch. Others, more acceptably recent, are $3.99 per view.
