Assasin’s Creed
A new dimension to stealth gaming

One of the most popular games shown at E3 2006, Assasin’s Creed promises to be a feast for rpg and stealth gamers.
You will play an assasin in the time of the third crusade. Your original goal is to eliminate key factors in the crusade, both on Saracen and Crusaders sides, but after a while you will find out about a deep secret, that threatens the entire world.

What distincts Assasin’s Creed from other games, is it’s incredible number of animations, unbelievable AI, and complete physical freedom. The player, the assasin, has got 5000 animations by itself. That is more then most current games have in total! And when you walk into a crowd, you don’t walk through them, or just move them about, no you will bend, turn, twist, push or crash your way through. The NPCs in this game really feel alive, and they can see what you are doing. If you kill someone, if will not go unnoticed. But it won’t go unnoticed if you run too fast either, or if you climb a wall. Another cool thing is that you can blend in with your environment. If you go and stand between some monks, who wear somewhat similar clothes as you do, the guards will not spot you very easily.

Assasin’s Creed is one of the few games I actually look forward to. We have only seen the tip of the iceberg so far, and already I’m thrilled by what I’ve seen. If the people at Ubisoft keep going on like this, and keep amazing the watching players, then I think they’ve got a goldmine in their hands!

Awesome review, Luuk. I was amazed when I had seen the illustration you enclosed, the graphics are just fantastic, it takes a few seconds to actually understand it’s not a real photo. Looks like it’s really gonna be something worth playing :D
